Incoming students
Band is a year-long course on the master schedule. Students enroll through course selection with their counselor in the spring.
How does a student enroll?
Select the band course during spring course registration with your counselor. Incoming freshmen choose it on their eighth grade course selection sheet. If band was left off a schedule by mistake, contact the band office before the semester starts, since schedule changes are far easier to make in June than in August.
Which course should a student select?
Most students enroll in Concert Band. Percussion and color guard students enroll in the band course and are placed into their section by staff.
How does marching band fit into the course?

Does a student need to own an instrument?
No. The program maintains school instruments and assigns them at no cost to students who need one. Larger instruments stay with the program regardless of a student’s situation.
Can a student take band and play a sport?
Absolutly. Bring it up during course selection so staff can coordinate with the coach before the season begins
